Following years of bold, colourful works, my palette has become more sober of late and being a lifelong admirer of black and white imagery, much of my work is now done in monochrome.

My time is currently split between four different series; 'america(r)na', 'taloned', 'wild' and 'ethereal'.

Since I can remember I've been fascinated by the avian world and in particular, birds of prey. Up until now I've tended to err towards a more graphic style of painting but with the 'taloned' series I've adopted a more traditional approach.

As a wilderness lover, many of the pieces in my 'wild' series have an empty feel about them and are largely based on visits to North America, Scandinavia and the more rugged corners of the UK. Both the 'ethereal' and 'america(r)na' series represent a more graphic approach to painting.

Music has always been an important part of my life and the tone, style and subject matter of my work often reflects my listening habits at the time. I've travelled fairly extensively and much of what I produce is based on photographs and experiences from the road - the rest is drawn from somewhere within. A deep-rooted fascination with the North American landscape may be partly explained by my Canadian heritage.
